Development & promotion of education resources – selling to over
3000 UK and international establishments

Starting from scratch, I developed a a series of videos that I sold to over 3000 schools, Ofsted, Cambridge University and many more.
As an A-Level media studies teacher, I saw how useful it was to watch others teach, but knew the difficulties and limitations of observing colleagues.
Having identified the need, I research the subject and set about filming real teachers in real classrooms. I quickly discovered that just having a product and shopping cart was not enough, I needed to proactively promote the resources to schools.
This is where my marketing journey began, and I quickly learned how to use email to effectively sell to schools and other organisations. Additionally, I created a YouTube channel with 5 minutes previews of each of our videos, which has accumulated over 2 million views to date and is a great traffic source for the streaming and e-commerce websites we created.
North Cambridge Community Partnership
Charity branding and communications
The North Cambridge Community Partnership is funded by the Cambridge City Council and represents over 12,000 local households in North Cambridge. As a new organisations created through a merger, the charity needed a fresh image that reflected the organisations community focus and values.
Anyone who knows me is familiar with my passion for charity and fundraising, and this was a great opportunity for me to make a real difference for the most deprived ward in Cambridge. As well as helping with the launch, I actively represent the charity as chair, speaking on radio and to newspapers about the organisation.
Families Learning Together
Development and Launch of an online Maths learning platform
This ambitious Maths project involved filming over 350 videos, creating email campaigns, print advertising, and content for social media.
I worked with three consultants who created the framework for this resource that allows parents to support their children’s learning at home, in guided activities that the school assigns.
I filmed 350 clips which included practical Maths activities with children, presenters against green screen, and simple animation.
I used the branding to create email templates. Together with the consultants, we wrote copy and I sent this to a database of 35,000 UK schools resulting in hundreds of signups.
Set up of branded Facebook and Twitter channels plus the creation of graphics and video content to drive traffic to the website.
Pension Claims – G. Vaughan Financial Services
Promoting financial advisor services
I created a sales funnel for this independent financial advisor that resulted in claims of £773,959 over a 13 month period.
I achieved these results by identifying the audiences most likely to be in need of Greg’s services, then creating a website that focused on the key services and concerns they had.
Firstly, after carefully researching the subject and taking the time to understand it, I wrote the website copy in plain English to maximise conversion. Secondly, I included a video to simply explain the complex world of financial mis-selling in a way that visitors could relate to, and finally, included a quick test to allow them to quickly see if they might be affected.
I built trust by setting up a Trustpilot account for customer feedback and added a reviews widget to the pension-claims website that is automatically updated.
With this in place, I created targeted campaigns that led to a consistent stream of high quality leads and a dramatic increase in turnover.
Advertising, promotion and key feature videos
The CEO of Alert Disaster Control knows big scale. He explained that if an oil fire broke out in Kuwait, they would charter a Russian Antonov 124 cargo plane, pack it full of the latest firefighting equipment, and fly from their base in Singapore to tackle the blaze.
The software they sell, iResponse, simulates the impact of major disaster scenarios, and allows oil and gas companies to predict, prepare for, and respond to these events. I created a 60 second advert as proof of concept, and was then contracted to create a longer promotional video and 12 product feature videos. These videos are used to sell the software to major global companies.
Video was my first love, and today remains my passion. It is lucky for me that video has become the most popular and effective ways of marketing, communicating ideas and driving site traffic. I have produced videos for a wide number of clients including the BBC and Cambridge University, and also successfully produced and sold video based training to thousands of UK and global clients.
